Forest Tenure Reform- New Resource on Rights for Forest-based Communities
RRI is pleased to share the introductory chapter of Forest Tenure Reform: New Resource Rights for Forest based Communities?, published in the Journal of Conservation and Society vol. 10 issue- 2. The chapter has been written by Anne Larson and Ganga Ram Dahal. This volume is a special issue on forest tenure reform where Larson and Dahal examine cases from around the globe, from the perspective of those claiming, demanding or apparently obtaining the recognition of rights. One central issue for comparison was the change in rights and ownership patterns- to what extent did the policy increase rights by law and then most importantly, in practice. Read the introductory chapter.
