Forest Day at UNFCCC COP 13
Shaping the global agenda for forests and climate change
On Saturday, CIFOR and the Collaborative Partnership on Forests will bring together the world's pre-eminent forest stakeholders, agenda setters and policymakers to address the key forest and climate issues of our time. The event will occur alongside this week's major UNFCCC 13th Conference of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol, also in Bali. Activities will include some thirty diverse and dynamic forums for community, corporate and government participants to present findings, engage in discourse, and develop solutions.
The plenaries, panels, side-events, and poster sessions will focus on issues such as:
Carbon-sequestration, mitigation, adaptation, and baselines;
Reducing Emissions from Deforestation in Developing countries (REDD);
Poverty, livelihoods, equity, and justice;
Data collection, methodologies and impact pathways;
Rights, compliance, laws and enforcement; and
Forest investment and payments for environmental services.
The full program is available here.
Events will be held at the Ayodya Hotel, Nusa Dua, Bali, Indonesia on Saturday December 8, 2007 from 9:00 - 18:00.
