Cartographie Participative et Macro-Zonage en RDC:
Quelles Implications sur la tenure foncière et forestière
This national workshop organized by Réseau Ressources Naturelles focused on participatory rights mapping and macro- and micro-zoning processes. It was an opportunity to present Congolese civil society's experience with participatory rights mapping, and included community, government and multi/bilateral stakeholders. The workshop's objective was to demonstrate to the Congolese government, civil society and international donor community that micro-zoning, via participatory rights mapping, is a crucial and feasible first step in zoning processes in DRC and to show, more generally, that a comprehensive zoning plan recognizing local and indigenous communities’ rights is essential to achieve equitable and participatory development in DRC.
The workshop kicked off an advocacy campaign to influence the Congolese government and its official partners' position on zoning.
