The Civil Society Advisory Group (CSAG) is a group of non-member stakeholders with an interest in the activities and dialogues of the International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO).
CSAG is a body mandated by the International Tropical Timber Council (ITTC, the governing body of ITTO) to represent the views of civil society organizations in council sessions, and increase their participation and input to the implementation of the International Tropical Timber Agreement (ITTA). Several Rights and Resources Partners are members of CSAG, including ACICAFOC, Forest Trends, FPCD, IUCN and RECOFTC.
CSAG involvement has been key in encouraging and supporting ITTO initiatives that support community forestry and community forest enterprises in tropical forest countries, including the Community Forestry Enterprise conference which took place in July 2007 in Brazil.
